Mallorca Cycle Routes

Medium to Long Tours

A collection of medium to long cycling tours covering the whole of Mallorca, combining countryside and mountain tours so that difficult climbs are compensated by long distances on flat ground.

The stages can easily be modified to conform to the capacities of the riders, with the possibility of adjusting distances for each tour or each group. These routes are mainly off heavily trafficked roads to ensure maximum safety.

These routes are brought to you courtesy of the Mallorca Cycling organisation.

Tour Nº 1

  • Itinerary Nº 1. Distance: 95 Km. Ideal for "grimpeurs" or climbers. Includes 1st, 2nd and 3rd category climbs and can be extended with two additional legs to Port de´s Canonge and Port de Valldemossa, which add to its difficulty.

Tour Nº 2

  • Itinerary Nº 2. Distance: 120 Km. This stage includes mountain routes in the 1st category of difficulty.

Tour Nº 3

Itinerary Nº 3. Distance: 110 Km. Basically a flat route, with only one 3rd category climb, although it could be complemented with the climb to Puig de San Salvador of 1st category difficulty, 5 Km.

Tour Nº 4

  • Itinerary Nº 4. Distance: 70 Km. This is almost a completely  flat tour, Nevertheless, it can be extended by 40 Km, with two climbs of a 1st and 3rd category to arrive at the Formentor Lighthouse.

Tour Nº 5

  • Itinerary Nº 5. Distance: 150 Km. This is a "queen" tour. There are some difficult parts. The hardest climb is to "Sa Calobra", with a 14 Km continuous ascent. The climb to Puig Mayor is gentler, although it’s the same number of kilometres.

Tour Nº 6

  • Itinerary Nº 6. Distance: 100 Km. Combines a flat route with easy climbs. This stage cal also be complemented by two 1st category climbs to Bonany Monastery and the Sanctuary of Cura.

Tour Nº 7

  • Itinerary Nº 7. Distance: 90 Km. Mostly flat, with an optional 2nd category climb to Montesión Monastery, with a 3 Km ascent.

Tour Nº 8

  • Itinerary Nº 8. A circular tour of Mallorca -- 320 Km. A large part of the route is along the coast, with some glorious views. Can be done with a group and can be finished in one day (13/14 hours if masochism is your game). Take lots of liquids and power snacks to munch on. Better yet, do it in two days.
